Week 2 & 3 (Semana 2 & 3)

Week 3: Jan 21-27

This week was inner healing week. 

Tom and Donna Cole (author’s of the book Pure Heart) were our speakers/facilitators.  

During the first two days we were given opportunities to come up and be prayed over and allow God to bring healing in areas where we have carried emotional wounds from our mothers and fathers; confession was also a part of the second day. It was amazing to watch God bring freedom in areas of people’s lives in my class where there has been so much bondage. The third day the focus was on true femininity and true masculinity. The women all came to front of class to be prayed over by the leaders; in the beginning the men went outside to pray for us but then about half way through they came back inside to pray over us too. Then we switched places, the men stayed in the class room to be prayed over and the women went outside to pray for them; half way through the women came back inside class to pray over the men. This day was finished by the men and women speaking words of blessing over each other. I wasn’t sure what I was going to think and feel about this third day and I am still processing it but it was probably one of my favorite things we have done so far. The fourth day was about forgiveness and one of the exercises we did was to write out on a piece of paper all of the people that God brought to mind that we needed to forgive and then we ripped up these papers as a demonstration that we had chosen to forgive those people.

Week 2: Jan 14-20 

This week our key speaker was Steve Fry, the lead pastor of theGATE church.

He spoke on the character and nature of God. The teaching was very deep and theological and I wanted to share many things with you that we talked about but couldn't figure out how to condense it. So here are just a few quick notes that stuck out to me.

• Knowing God’s character is key to intimacy with Him.
• Knowing God’s nature is key to wisdom.
• God is a Father who loves His children and delights in redeeming them!
• Our Identity=loved by God
• We are designed to discover ourselves by discovering Him.
• Our identity is not first something we “are” but something we receive. It is a lie that we can choose our identity. You know what you look like on the outside because of an outside source (camera, mirror, etc). An outside source (God and His Word) are also necessary for the inside too.
• Gods nature (triune) is the foundation of: community, identity, spiritual life, ministry, our understanding of authority, and our understanding of leadership.

On Friday a man named Trent Shepard spoke to the entire campus and shared a story about his DTS experience many years ago. He was describing an incident that happened while his team was on outreach. Him and one of his friends were trying to share the gospel with a young lady and she just wasn’t connecting with what they were sharing; all of sudden a thought came to his mind that this lady had been in a house fire when she was young and he felt like he needed to ask her if that was true. When he did ask, her eyes filled with tears because it was true and she couldn’t understand how he could know that about her. Trent shared with her that he didn’t know, it was God who told him! Asking her this question became the open door for this lady receiving Jesus! 

Have you ever had a similar experience of God speaking to you or through someone into your life? I have had a few, one of those experiences is part of what brought me to be in Kona right now. (Semana 3: Enero 21-27)

Esta semana fue la semana de curación interna. 

Tom y Donna Cole (autores del libro Pure Heart) fueron nuestros ponentes/facilitadores.

Durante los dos primeros días nos dieron oportunidades de subir y ser rezado y permitir que Dios trajera sanación en áreas donde hemos llevado heridas emocionales de nuestras madres y padres; confesión también era parte del segundo día. Fue increíble ver a Dios traer la libertad en las áreas de la vida de la gente en mi clase donde ha habido tanta esclavitud. El tercer día se enfocó en la verdadera feminidad y la verdadera masculinidad.

(Semana 2: Enero 14-20)

Esta semana nuestro orador clave fue Steve Fry, el pastor principal de la iglesia theGate. 
Habló sobre el carácter y la naturaleza de Dios. La enseñanza era muy profunda y teológica, y quería compartir muchas cosas de las que hablábamos, pero podía averiguar cómo condenarla. Así que aquí son sólo unas cuantas notas rápidas que se atascan a mí

• Conocer el carácter de Dios es clave para la intimidad con él. 
• Conocer la naturaleza de Dios es clave para la sabiduría. 
• Dios es un padre que ama a sus hijos y se deleita en redimirlos! 
• Nuestra identidad = amado por Dios 
• Estamos diseñados para descubrirnos a nosotros mismos descubriéndolo.
• Nuestra identidad no es primero algo que "somos", sino algo que recibimos. Es una mentira que podemos elegir nuestra identidad. Usted sabe lo que parece en el exterior debido a una fuente externa (cámara, espejo, etc.). Una fuente externa (Dios y su palabra) también es necesaria para el interior.
• La naturaleza de Dios (Triune) es la base de: comunidad, identidad, vida espiritual, ministerio, nuestra comprensión de la autoridad, y nuestra comprensión del liderazgo.

El viernes un hombre llamado Trent Shepard habló a todo el campus y compartió una historia sobre su experiencia de DTS hace muchos años. Él estaba describiendo un incidente que sucedió durante la cruzada de su DTS. Él y uno de sus amigos trataban de compartir el Evangelio con una jovencita y ella simplemente no estaba conectando con lo que estaban compartiendo; de repente un pensamiento vino a su mente que esta señorita había estado en un fuego de la casa cuando era joven y sintió que necesitaba preguntarle si eso era cierto. Cuando le preguntaron, sus ojos llenos de lágrimas porque era verdad y ella no podía entender cómo él podía saber eso de ella. Trent compartió con ella que él no sabía, era Dios quien le dijo! Pedirle esta pregunta se convirtió en la puerta abierta para esta señorita recibiendo a Jesús!

¿Alguna vez has tenido una experiencia similar de Dios hablando a ti o a través de alguien en tu vida? He tenido algunas, una de esas experiencias es parte de lo que me trajo a estar en Kona en este momento. Si usted tiene una historia que le gustaría compartir, me encantaría escuchar acerca de su experiencia de escuchar la voz de Dios y cómo él los ha utilizado para compartir el Evangelio o cómo usó a otros en su vida.Todas las mujeres llegaron al frente de la clase para ser rezado por los líderes; en el principio los hombres salieron a orar por nosotros, pero luego a mitad de camino a través de ellos regresó adentro para orar por nosotros también. Luego cambiamos de lugar, los hombres se quedaron en el aula para ser rezado y las mujeres salieron a orar por ellos; a mitad de camino a través de las mujeres regresó dentro de la clase para orar por los hombres. Este día fue terminado por los hombres y las mujeres que hablaban palabras de bendición el uno sobre el otro. No estaba seguro de lo que iba a pensar y sentir acerca de este tercer día y todavía estoy procesando pero fue probablemente una de mis cosas favoritas que hemos hecho hasta ahora. El cuarto día fue sobre el perdón y uno de los ejercicios que hicimos fue escribir en un trozo de papel a toda la gente que Dios nos trajo a la mente que necesitábamos perdonar y luego nos arrancó estos papeles como una demostración que habíamos escogido para perdonar a esas personas.
